Late February Ride- Waseca, MN

When it got up to 39 degrees this morning I thought a ride sounded like a good idea.  The skies were overcast and the wind was WSW at 28 mph and must have been gusting to 35, or so.  I usually don't have trouble with the wind, but when I was riding cross wind, a few of the gust moved me around a bit.  Sunday's are good days to be swerving all over the road in the wind, because there are not cars (just kidding).  The wind was so loud in the groves of the tree claims that I thought a train was coming.  Then I encountered a train and managed to get across the railway just ahead of the Burlington Northern.  The train must have been traveling at 2 to 3 mph, so it was not hard.

I added a mile (Strava)or so to my ride from last week, and I noticed the Canada Geese are coming back, looking for nesting sites along the frozen lakes.  Against the wind, I think I had a hard time generating more than 11mph.  With the wind (yaahooo!)  I cruised at about 26 to 28 mph.  Fun fun.  All in all, I averaged a modest 14.2 mph for about 1 hour.

Legs felt good, lower back fine, so Beach Body Challenge. must be working.  Now, I just need to get to California for some better weather!
